Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

he/him/his

I have been working as a therapist for over ten years. My favorite part of this job is forming collaborative relationships with my clients and working together to improve their lives. I am particularly interested in how significant losses or traumas in our past affect our functioning in the present. Loss and trauma are universal for human beings, and they usually happen in the context of relationships. We need supportive relationships in order to heal.

Many of my individual clients are men. Emotional isolation is a significant mental health issue for men because of how boys have been socialized in our society. Sometimes codes of masculinity get in the way of optimal mental and relational health.

My graduate training was in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I still apply a relationship systems perspective to my work. Since 2018, most of my ongoing training and study has been on how complex trauma affects individual and relationship functioning.
