Minnesota's first mental health coworking space opens in Edina
Hybrid model of care disrupts private health practices
After years of lockdown popularized the use of telemedicine, private mental health practitioners no longer need a physical office everyday, or all day. While the need for mental health care is at an all time high and typical coworking spaces are on the rise, Minnesota has lacked a coworking space with both the required private space and appropriate furnishings for treating patients.
Frustrated by the lack of options and the cost of single use office space, St. Olaf graduate, Christina Hansen Cohen Psy.D., L.P., set out to solve the problem by founding Therapy Suites, Inc., Minnesota's first coworking space for mental health professionals.
Designed for social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, working both remote and in-person, the Edina based office features nine HIPAA compliant offices, two Telehealth offices, a play therapy room, on-site gym, kitchen, lounge, and two conference rooms.
When asked about what role the coworking design will have for members Dr. Cohen said: "I wanted it to be a space that created an environment where therapists have the ability to grow and teach, a space where therapists can treat with ease in a professional and safe environment, a space that offers collaboration and a high level of mental health care for our clients."
Therapy Suites invites its fellow therapists and Edina community to its grand opening on April 5, 2023. Click here for free Eventbrite ticket.
